BeUNIQUE Hair Care was created by me Belinda Raji and born from my own frustration in accessing good quality hair products for Afro textured hair. After many years of chemically processing my hair in March 2009 I took the decision to return my hair to its natural state. This decision was taken without any prior research and an assumption that looking after natural hair couldn’t possibly be that hard!

I soon learnt that there was more to natural hair than meets the eye and so after a second ‘big-chop’ in August 2009, I started my natural hair journey again. This time I was armed with more knowledge and utilised the internet and the virtual natural community that exists on YouTube as my support system.

Now feeling fully aware of what I should and shouldn’t be using in my hair I felt far more confident, but the next obstacle that I was met with was the lack of what I should be using in my hair being used as ingredients in existing hair care products. It wasn’t as simple as popping down the road and buying what was on the shelf of the local beauty supply store. I had to use the internet to find good, quality hair products, and soon found that my purse was getting lighter.

Influenced by my mother who is a big fan of holistic and herbal medicine I decided that there had to be natural alternatives to the potentially dangerous and non-beneficial ingredients that the cosmetic companies use in hair products.

So I set about creating my own products and this is how BeUNIQUE Hair Care began. My mission is to create hair products that utilize the beneficial properties of natural ingredients, in order to maintain healthy hair and make styling naturally Afro textured hair a fun process.
