Behentrimonium Methosulphate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol
BTMS Conditioning Emulsifier is an excellent cationic self-emulsifier and conditioner for both hair and skin care. It is naturally derived from Colza oil and is noted for its exceptional mildness. Because BTMS Conditioning Emulsifier is substantive to hair, it imparts excellent body and spring and improves wet combing.
Broccoli (Brassica oleracea italic) Seed Oil
Cold pressed Virgin Broccoli Seed Oil is derived from the seeds of the Brassica oleracea italica (Broccoli) family. It contains a unique composition of unsaturated fatty, is high in vitamin C and also contains vitamins A & K, along with Iron, Potassium and Calcium. Broccoli Seed Oil has been shown to perform as well as Silicones at helping control frizzy or flyaway hair and imparting shine and gloss, without leaving the hair feeling greasy or heavy.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (and) Aloe barbadensis Extract
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride derived from coconut oil and glycerine. As an emollient, it both quickly penetrates the surface to condition the hair, and provides a lightweight and non-greasy barrier of lubrication. Aloe barbadensis Extract (please see above)
Carrot Tissue Oil (Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil (and) Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Seed Extract)
Should not be confused with carrot seed oil, an essential oil. The carrot tissue oil is beta carotene infused into sunflower oil, so we get all the goodness of carrot tissue oil with the awesome power of sunflower. Extremely rich in Beta Carotene, Vitamins A, B, C, D and E and essential fatty acids. It helps to strengthen hair and prevents breakage.
Cetyl Alcohol
Derived from coconut oil, Cetyl alcohol aids conditioning products in sealing the hair shaft, which prevents hair from appearing brittle or frizzy and adds shine, making your hair look and feel softer. It also helps with combing hair by smoothing tangles. Cetyl alcohol will act as a barrier to prevent water from escaping as it is a fat and it does not mix well with water. When cetyl alcohol is used in conditioning products, it helps them prevent water loss in your hair, this prevents drying and damage to the hair shaft.
Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) Milk
Coconut Milk is a beneficial liquid extract which yields from the coconut. It is high in protein, essential fats, iron and manganese, which are elements all valuable in growth and maintenance of healthy hair, as well as preventing hair loss. When applied topically to the hair, coconut milk provides quick external positive results, hair is noticeably softer and hair loss diminished.
Colloidal Oatmeal (Avena Sativa Kernel Meal)
Colloidal oatmeal contains 10% to 18% protein, 60% to 64% polysaccharides as well as lipids, enzymes, saponins, vitamins, flavonoids and prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors. Cupuacu (Theobroma grandiflorum) Butter
It provides a high capacity for water absorption, over 200% higher than that of lanolin, making it a suitable vegan alternative. It thus has excellent emollient and lubricant properties, helping to hydrate dry and damaged hair.
Dehydroxanthan Gum
Dehydroxanthan gum (tradename: Amaze XT) is an all-natural technology for use in hair gels and other hair styling products. This naturally-derived polymer has performance properties that are either equivalent or superior to traditional synthetic polymers such as PVP and carbomer.
Gingko Biloba
An anti-inflammatory and antiallergenic, very soothing to the skin and scalp. It increases the hair’s ability to absorb nutrients and improves scalp circulation.
Guar Gum (Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride)
Guar conditioning gum is a water-soluble cationic powder derived from guar gum. It is substantive to the hair and has softening and conditioning benefits, without leaving build-up. It forms a protective barrier on the hair and helps control flyaway and frizzy hair. It also promotes shine to the hair.
Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) Seed Oil
Rich in vitamins, such as the natural anti-oxidant vitamin E, imparts gloss and manageability to hair, brings relief from dry scalp or hair damage by blow-dryer heat, chemical perms, coloring or sunlight, aids in keratin formation (the principal protein of hair and nails), helps increase volume, comb ability and shine, smoothes down the cuticle of the hair.
Honeyquat (Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey)
Naturally derived quaternized conditioning agent made from honey, exhibiting excellent moisture binding capabilities, far more than that seen with glycerine. Illipe (Shorea Stenoptera) Butter
It is similar in its triglyceride content to Cocoa Butter it provides moisture to dry or damaged hair.
Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) Oil
Waxy oil extracted from the bean, which helps the jojoba desert plant retain water during the long summer drought. When used in cosmetic preparations, it not only acts as a humectant, but actually creates a protective film over the skin and hair shaft that helps seal in moisture. The oil is highly stable and very effective on dry skin, damaged hair and split ends.
Mango (Mangifera indica) Butter
Mango butter is obtained from the fruit kernels of the Mangifera indica tree, which is native to India. Mango Butter provides moisturisation to the hair and helps strengthen and protect the hair.
Meadowfoam (Limnanthes Alba) Seed Oil
In hair oils and packs for different types of hair and problems, such as dandruff and seborrhoea; dry and damaged hair; to add shine and volume. 100% meadowfoam oil can be rubbed into hair tips. Use in hair cream treatments for hair loss and for structurally damaged or brittle hair. The oil extracted from Meadowfoam seed is rich in Vitamin C and contains salicylic acid and citric acid. Meadowfoam seed oil moisturizes, rejuvenates and provides a protective barrier for hair.
Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) Root Extract
Contains mucilages which help alleviate the redness and itching associated with skin irritations such as psoriasis and eczema Marshmallow is beneficial to dry scalp and hair and can be used to soften and detangle the hair.
Murumuru (Astrocaryum Murumuru) Butter
It is extremely high in vitamin A, making it a superb anti-oxidant. It is also rich in oleic and linoleic acids which help create a permeable barrier to prevent water loss and give it excellent emollient properties for both skin and hair.
Monoi de Tahiti Oil (Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil (and) Tiare (Gardenia tahitensis) Flower Extract)
Monoi rehydrates the epidermal layers and protects against external damage. It also moisturizes and conditions the hair. Monoi de Tahiti Oil is created by the infusion of Tiare, or Tahitian Gardenia, flowers in coconut oil and has been used for centuries by Polynesian women (Vahines) to condition and moisturize their skin and hair. It has a subtle yet intoxicating scent.
Nettle (Urtica Dioica) Leaf Extract
Nettle is rich is silica and has been used for hundreds of years to soothe irritated skin and scalp conditions, due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It improves the condition of the hair follicles
Nettle also contains vitamins A and K as well as calcium, iron and magnesium.
Nilotica Shea (Vitellaris paradoxa Gaetner) Butter
Butter obtained from the nuts of the mangifolia tree in Central Africa, also known as karite butter or African butter. A superb emollient, high in fatty acids and other nutrients, it is an ideal ingredient for skin moisturizers, sun care products and hair conditioners. Shea oil aka shea olein aka sheabutter oil aka liquid shea is obtained when stearin is separated from the butter.
Oat (Avena sativa) Extract
Oat Extract contains b-glucan which promotes cellular turnover and thus increases wound healing, it also stimulates collagen synthesis and aids in water retention, to protect and moisturise the skin and hair. Oat extract has anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties, and is thus good for sensitive and irritated skin and scalp conditions. Oat extract penetrates the hair shaft and helps strengthen and protect it. It softens and smoothes the hair.
Olive Squalane
A saturated hydrocarbon found in human sebum, added to cosmetics for its emollient and bactericidal properties.
Panthenol (Aqua (and) Panthenol (and) Potassium Sorbate)
Binds water in the outer skin layer, penetrates the skin and the top layer of nails, follicles and hair. Creates a protective film and makes hair soft and easy to handle. Gives the hair moisture & shine, reduces spilt ends.
Papaya (Carica Papaya) Seed Oil
An oil which is high in Omega 6 and 9, Vitamins A & C and Potassium. When used in hair care preparations, Papaya Seed oil adds condition and sheen.
Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Chlorphenesin
Broad spectrum Paraben-free and Formaldehyde-free preservation system. Active against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, yeasts and moulds
Polysorbate 80
Polysorbate 80 also known as polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate. It is used primarily as an emulsifier in food products, cosmetics, vitamins, medicines, and vaccines; it prevents the oil and water from separating (used at less than 1% in our products)
Poppy (Papaveris Somniferum) Seed Oil
High in linoleic acids, minerals and proteins, smoothes the cuticle of the hair while moisturizing and adding shine
Red Palm (Elaesis guineensis) Oil
Palm Oil contains high amounts of glycerides - a natural conditioner that imparts incredible softness to our hair. Palm oil is naturally reddish, and it’s full of vitamins and antioxidants.
Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) Leaf Extract
Contains flavonoids and polyphenolic compounds which exhibit anti-oxidant properties and act as free radical scavengers. This is particularly beneficial to mature skin. Polyphenols also have anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties, which help relieve skin irritations.
Rice Bran (Oryza sativa) Oil
Adds sheen and manageability while moisturizing and conditioning the hair without weighing it down, imparts shine and texture and leaves hair easy to style, also contains proteins that help strengthen the hair shaft and prevent split ends
Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) Essential Oil
Helps in stimulating follicles, it is also believed that rosemary oil slows down premature hair loss and graying of hair. Rosemary essential oil is also beneficial for dry and flaky scalps. Regular massage of scalp with rosemary oil nourishes the scalp and removes dandruff.
Sapote (Pouteria sapota) Oil
Rich in vitamins A, C, iron, potassium, calcium and plant proteins. When applied to the hair, Sapote Oil moisturises and softens the hair and helps improve manageability. Silk Amino Acid Powder
Silk amino acid powder contains 100% fibroin, which consists of eighteen amino acids and trace elements. Tucuma butter is extracted from cold pressing of the fruit of the Astrocaryum tucuma tree, which is native to Brazil and grows in the Amazon Rainforest. It is rich in omegas 3, 6 and 9 and contains a high percentage of lauric, oleic and myristics acids, all of which aid skin moisturisation. It is also high in vitamin A and thus possesses excellent anti-oxidant properties, making it ideal for mature skin. It also adds shine and condition to the hair.
Vegetable Glycerine
It is known for being a humectant, it keeps hair hydrated by drawing moisture from the air to the hair shaft. As a conditioner, it's especially beneficial for curly hair.
Virgin Coconut (Cocos nucifera) Oil
Coconut oil is one of the best natural forms of nutrition for hair. It helps in healthy growth of hair. Regular massage of the head with coconut oil ensures that your scalp is free of dandruff, lice, and lice eggs, even if your scalp is dry. It is an excellent conditioner and helps with hair growth. It also provides the essential proteins required for nourishing damaged hair.
